Here at Eco Books 4 Kids, all of our books are geared towards learning, and contain factual information about wildlife and ecology. Our goal is to provide entertaining stories that educators can use in their classrooms to teach lessons about ecology and conservation. This section contains free educational resources that relate to our books, and may be downloaded, printed and used for classroom teaching. We will be posting more materials as our book nears completion, so watch this space!

Kermode Bear Facts 

Bear Facts Bear Facts

This ‘Fun Facts’ sheet may be used to teach children about the Kermode bear of BC. They are genetically and behaviourally similar to the black bear, so this lesson can used for both species. It may be used in conjunction with the ‘Kermode Bear Life cycle (below) to teach about the life cycle of the Kermode and black bear.

This ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ life-cycle diagram may be used in conjunction with the ‘Kermode Bear Facts’ sheets to teach children about the life-cycle of the Kermode bear. The Kermode has the same life cycle as the black bear, so it can also be used for this purpose as well.

This crossword puzzle may be used to teach children about the many animals and plants found in the Great Bear Rainforest. After reading ‘Spirit Bear’ and studying the Kermode bear facts sheet, filling in the puzzle should be a snap! A great way to teach children about Canadian wildlife.
