Team Energy Star’s ‘Epic’ Fight to Protect the Climate

Do you care about the planet? Are you always looking for ways to become and remain energy efficient? Do you teach your children about the importance of protecting the planet by saving energy? Then, go no further because Team ENERGY STAR wants you and your family to join its energy efficiency fight.

Last year, Team ENERGY STAR held a contest teaching children about the importance of energy efficiency. This year, the organization is hoping to continue its efforts by getting even more kids inspired to save energy, especially this summer.

Did you know summer is the season where energy consumption skyrockets? That’s why it’s important to get our kids to hop on the energy efficiency bandwagon. They can finally do something eco-friendly, especially while at home on their summer breaks. With the average home giving off more than 20,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions per year and homes spending more than $2,000 per year on energy bills, our children should know how and why it’s important to save energy. Kids might think saving energy is boring, but there’s a way to make it fun, and that’s where Team ENERGY STAR comes in handy.

The organization is all about providing easy-to-download educational and interactive activities like an Action Kit with the ENERGY STAR Home Check-Up, an “Epic” themed activity booklet and a Professor Bomba’s Binoculars kit to help kids see the world in a whole new way. Furthermore, if your child wants his/her voice to be heard, then he/she is more than welcome to submit a story about saving the planet by saving energy.

This year, Team ENERGY STAR is truly going above and beyond to get across its eco-mission. It’s even partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and PTO Today (a national nonprofit helping independent parent-teacher organizations) to ensure kids of all ages across the nation can participate.

ENERGY STAR has also “brought in the heroic characters from the new movie ‘Epic,’ to help kids learn about the importance of saving energy while having fun at the same time.
